Columbus established their reputation as one of the first online travel insurance companies, having provided travel insurance direct to the public since 1988.

Review

While the site is secure and functional, we found it difficult to move through the 'purchase path' and are surprised they haven't used their success to vastly improve their customers experience. Although they do take all the major cards, you can't use Amex or Diners online.

What's baffling about the Australian Columbus Direct website is that while it uses the same purchasing/quoting engine as the UK site, the Australian version is significantly harder to use and has much less work put into refining the look and feel of the site.

It is true the website is a tangle but then they were the cheapest I couild find and benefits were comparable to the others
