Travel Insurance Direct without doubt have one of the most usable sites we have ever reviewed and they have gone to a not-insignificant amount of work to highlight policy details, exclusions and issues.
Review
Travel Insurance Direct has without doubt the most effective online service with their clean, intuitive and fast web site.
In terms of financial backing and security, Travel Insurance Direct has some fine pedigree and is underwritten by Allianz Australia and they have followed WorldNomads.com by integrating the Footprints Network charity API, which is a nice gesture for and insurance company.

Products
Holiday
Holiday travel insurance from 1 to 365 days for the entire family starting at $30. The policy includes medical cover for skiing and golfing activities and equipment, and is available to persons up to 71 years of age.
Budget
The budget product is designed for frequent travellers and starts at $61. You are not covered for extraneous things like 'Domestic Pets', but you are covered for the serious items like 'Medical Expenses' and 'Personal Liability'.
Comprehensive
The comprehensive product offers everything available in the 'Holiday' package plus a range of other items for business travellers such as coverage for 'Business Equipment' and 'Recreating Business Documents'. Coverage starts at $45.68.
Annual multi-trip
Multi-trip is a yearly purchase that covers the frequent traveller for the next 365 days. The trips must be no longer than 90 days in duration and the cover includes your spouse or de facto and starts at $340 for the year.

ADDTIONAL COMMENTS TO BE ADDED My wife Ching McRae accompanies me she is covered by VISA ANZ BANK & AMERICAN EXPRESS PLATINUM CARDS & her D>O>B is 20.11.1947-
I have similar Platinum Cards however over age insurance limits for them.

All flights paid by Frequent Flyer Qantas points-Cruise ship tickets received all paid up. My age

had 2 claims on our return from bali last year no problems with this insuance co, they paid up straight away, l will pay the $25 excess next time as l was $200 out of pocket for not having nil excess.

I had to cancel a trip after being diagnosed with cancer a week before I was due to go.
They have denied my claim for a refund saying it was pre-existing. Absolute crap.

Last year I had to cancel our family holiday due to my daughter being unable to travel(severe broken arm ). Our insurance refund was paid amazingly fast. When we did eventually get on our holiday later that year,my daughter had her camera stolen and lost her Ipod.Our insurance refund was also paid just as fast then as well.The only thing I had to pay a $75- excess on each items.

At last an insurer who will insure older adventurers.My wife and I are both 65 plus and there are not to many Companies out there who will look at us for insurance.Our next trip is Overland to the UK through China,Russia & Europe a trip of around 9 months and guess who we will be talking to for our travel insurance!
