Downunder has been in business over 10 years and sell travel insurance direct in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. They cover over 60 adventure sports and you can buy out the excess if you wish.

Downunder have a long-established reputation on the Kangaroo route and seem to be highly regarded.

Although the site design is slightly anarchic, fonts are tiny, and instructions obtuse, once you work out where to get a quote the purchase path is reasonably functional.

However, the poorly organised information and bad design has a serious impact on the user experience. So much so, that most users will probably abandon the site before they reach the purchase path.

E-commerce is handled by WorldPay, who are highly reputable, but Downunder should, however, test their online services far more carefully since the e-commerce doesn't work in Safari, Mozilla or Firebird.

Unfortunately, online transactions for Australia are currently unavailable.
